![]() 22 rifles and pistols for long rifle loads. As the velocity is Standard, it functions-at least theoretically-in all. It is very accurate and works the Ruger 10-22 semi-auto action. Remington High Velocity runs around 1,280. 22 Long Rifle runs out at about 1,200+ fps. 22 is the most popular because it can be used to eliminate pests (non-human) in a suburban environment without causing a stir. Suppressed pistols are much quieter than rifles because most of them are already traveling subsonic and the. Subsonic rounds performed well in the bolt gun, but high-velocity rounds were adequate in the sound department without all the challenges of subsonic. If the bullet exceeds this speed, there will be a crack. The magic speed is just under 1,100 feet-per-second (fps). One reason the sound is not completely suppressed-especially in rifles-is the sonic “crack” that is heard as the bullet breaks the sound barrier. Subsonic ammo quiets the weapon even more, but at the cost of other benefits. Silencers don’t exist in the real world, only in the movies. They don’t silence the bang to an undetectable level, so silencer is an incorrect term. Truth be told, suppressors do just that, suppress the fast-moving gasses that cause the bang when the gun is fired. ![]() I know-they were put there to keep bloodthirsty assassins from committing horrible murders undetected, and it has done much to keep these crimes in Hollywood movies and not on our streets. In my opinion, they never should have been put on that list to begin with. They are so popular a push has begun to take them off the NFA list of regulated weapons. But others here could have told you that as well if you'd asked.Suppressors have become extremely popular, and more folks are reaping the benefits of suppressed shooting. You should re-consider why you're here on this forum you're not going to get the validation you're looking for this way.Ībout the only accurate thing you stumbled on here is that Blue Dot is a good powder for reduced mid-velocity loads in the 223. ![]() There's a big gap between "wanting to learn" and " something to prove", and you're on the wrong side of that gap. Your first post started that way and you've continued that theme the only thing you've proven to the rest of us is that you know very little about subsonic loads or how to build them effectively. It's sad to see someone so arrogant that they can't step back and see how much more there is to learn about a topic, because they're so focused on "proving" that they're smarter than everyone else. You've been going out of your way to prove you're not that man. Save me.Ī wise man knows to shut up when he doesn't know what he's talking about. And also tell me what to buy and how much to pay for it. Maybe next time, you tell me what is OK to like and not like. I am allowed to say I don't like trailboss right? Or has the Democrat party taken over reloading too and I can't say that or have an opinion. Subsonic in 5.56 is almost useless as you guys know. ![]() I wanted to see how linear the progression of velocity was until it cycled the gun. So now, I learned what charges will get me subsonic with prettty much any pistol powder, since the 10 powder sampling covers almost the entire range with comparable powders.Īlso, the Blue dot going UP, had nothing to do with subsonic. I never did that test before, that was first time out with pistol powders in 5.56 cases. As you can see, I could care less about load data from manufacturers so that doesn't matter to me. Unique? 10/10.īUT, if you won't load anything except following manufacturer load data, than Trailboss is great, and I understand that, for those folks. If versatility is why you like certain powders, like why people like UNIQUE for example, then by that measure, objectively, Trailboss is the worst pistol powder you can buy. For example, 9MM it doesn't work, and also, you should not compress trailboss. I don't like trailboss because it has "narrow" versatility. ![]()
